Though all Sun Microsystems employees in the World Trade Center survived the attacks, Phil Rosenzweig, a Sun employee, died aboard American Airlines Flight 11. A multi-site memorial gathering was held on Monday, October 22, 2001 at Sun in Burlington, Massachusetts, RIT in Rochester, New York, Sun in Santa Clara, California, and Sun in France. Lauren Rosenzweig, Phil's widow, read a memorial address.
