Phil Rosenzweig of Sun Microsystems died on board American Airlines Flight 11.

Phil's remains were discovered on September 13, 2001, and he was identified many months later using DNA testing. Phil was buried on Sunday, August 26, 2002, in the Beit Olam Cemetery in Wayland, MA. Phil's body is resting peacefully, and his spirit lives on through our memories of how he enriched our lives.

A granite bench stands at Sun in Burlington, Massachusetts with the following inscription:

The memory of your place here weaves a pattern through our days. You are missed.

A willow tree was planted at SunLabs facility in Mountain View, California. The plaque there reads:

Ephemeral Life
Eternal Remembrance
Phil Rosenzweig
Friend and Colleague
Lost 11 September 2001

When Sun moved out of this building in 2005, the plaque was relocated to Sun's Menlo Park campus.
