Patrick J. Quigley IV was a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting who died on September 11, 2001. He was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175. Patrick was a respected consultant, well-liked by clients and peers alike, and was also very committed to community service. In order to honor him and to identify other consultants that exemplify Quigley's spirit, the Patrick J. Quigley IV Memorial Award was established at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting in 2002. When PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting was sold to IBM Global Business Services in late 2002, IBM continued with the award program.

The award is annual and peer nominated. Any active consultant in IBM's Global Business Services group is eligible during the nomination period. Nominated individuals need to demonstrate the values that Patrick exemplified in his life and career.

Nominees are reviewed by a selection committe comprised ofmembers of the Global Business Services leadership and of Patti Quigley, Patrick's widow. The award recipient is announced on or around September 11th every year.
