Sergeant Michael S. Curtin

Sergeant Curtin was asssigned to the NYPD Emergency Service Unit, Truck 2. He was appointed to the force on January 26, 1988. He was originally assigned to Field Training Unit 13. He received an appointment to ESU in January 1991, but was called to Marine active duty in Operation Desert Storm. He retired from the Marine Reserves as a Sergeant Major. Upon returning to the NYPD in Emergency Squad 7, he responded to the 1993 WTC bombing and the Oklahoma City bombing as a Rescue Specialist with FEMA NY Task Force 1. He was promoted to Sergeant in December 1995, and re-assigned to ESU in 1998. He is survived by his wife Helga, and children Jennifer, Erika and Heather.
