Ann Nicole Nelson (17 May 1971 - 11 September 2001) was a bond trader for the Cantor Fitzgerald brokerage firm and worked on the 104th floor of the World Trade Center's north tower. Previously, she had worked at Dain Rauscher, first in Minneapolis and then in Chicago over a seven-year period (1993-2000). Tragically, she perished when American Airlines Flight 11 hit the north tower in the September 11, 2001 attacks. Cantor Fitzgerald lost roughly 2/3 of its workers in the attacks.

Ann was born to parents Gary and Jenette Nelson. A native of Stanley, North Dakota, she was well-known throughout the small town for her kindness and her adventurous spirit. An avid sports lover, she especially loved skiing, soccer, golf and tennis. She loved to travel, having recently visited Peru. She attended She attended Stanley Public School in her hometown. She also attended Campus School in Minot, North Dakota, Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam, WI, and Carleton College in Northfield, MN.

She has had many tributes and donations made in her honor. Minot State University's concert hall has since been renamed Ann Nicole Nelson Hall, originally George McFarland Hall. Ann is survived by her parents, Gary and Jenette; her brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Dawn along with their five childr:en: Brittany, Brooke, Jessie, Jeremiah and Brianna; her boyfriend of three years, Eric Lockovitch; her Newfoundland dog, Newman; as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins, and many, many friends who miss her everyday.
