Alexander Filipov

Alexander Milan Filipov (1931-2001) was an electrical engineer. Filipov specialized in aeronautic machinery. He died at age 70 in the crash of American Airlines Flight 11 in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. He was survived by his wife, Loretta and sons, David Filipov, Moscow bureau chief for the Boston Globe, Allan and Jeffrey and one grandson. Mr. Filipov was going to Los Angeles for a business meeting with the company for which he consulted.
